Stanley Gibbons is a
name any stamp collector recognises instantly. They’ve been around for years but
to maintain their position they needed to introduce more ecommerce functionality
on their websites.
The solution
First up, we analysed the client’s end-to-end work flows. Then we put together a
full project plan, and picked out the ‘quick wins’ which we began to deliver quickly
and often.
We had four parallel streams of work going
- a stock control system dealing with millions of stamps
- a finance system handling full order processing
- a customer relationship management system holding users’ details and allowing them
to manage them themselves
- hosting migration to a new, more robust provider
The result
We cut hosting costs by half, yet we improved both up-time and performance. We removed
the need for a Sage Web component costing £100,000. And we created a forecasted
saving of £100,000 through efficient tracking of VAT on stamp sales.
